Enjoyed the evening of racing. Glad to be back into it.
Found a good set for the car, and my tires held out well enough to grab a couple positions near the end of the races.

In race 2, Hutty got by me in a series of maneuvers that brought a tear to my eye. There was light cascading from on high and cherubs were singing their praises. It was beautiful.

I do love the GP layout but this one is just too short. Some good racing nonetheless. Congrats to the winners. Glad to see more people joining us for the awesome racing. Cheers!

I took for granted that I wouldn't need much practice here because most of the layout is shared with the GP layout, couldn't put a lap together in qualifying to keep Dave Hutton (Subaru) from ending my streak of poles. Returning driver Benzene Suave (BMW) contributed with pressure in Official Practice by setting the pace.

I good guyed myself out of the lead by relinquishing the lead to Dave after we had contact in T2, I thought that I had cut down on him on exit but really he went for the over-under and I didn't go wide, was able to hold the preferred racing line. Unfortunately, letting him by at T1 also let Benzene through. I eventually regained the lead so outwardly it didn't matter but I certainly used up more tire fighting my way back to 1st. As it was, had I defended at T1 late the in the race, I might have been able to hold off Dave. That mistake cost me doubly as I almost went off and again lost two positions.

Exciting race concluded with what is probably the closest margin of victory in our short rFactor 2 history, 0.056 sec at the line, Hutton over Suave.

Race 2 start circumstances and the decision to go around the outside of a gaggle of cars at T2 on the first lap probably was the pivotal moment of Race 2 for me. I eventually caught Rich Minkler (Mercedes) who had gotten out to a large lead but probably used up his tires doing so. I learned from my Race 1 which had finished with 1% left on my left front after having I think 45% left at the halfway point. In Race 2, I started driving as though as my tires were worn out (braking sooner, slower apex speed especially at the slow corners, avoiding engine while turning) which left me with much more tire, 18% on the left front IIRC and I was able to hold for the win, my first Race 2 of the year, I think.

I like this track but understand why it's not universally liked. It does make for a unique race, though. 28 laps is a lot for a sprint race, especially with the majority of the corners turning right. Tough on tires but also 28 chances for a draft and pass @ T1...

Brands Hatch Indy will probably be voted off the schedule but I am glad that we used it. A few returning and new drivers and a short lap made for what felt like a full track.

Race 2 (lap 3 or 4) I got together with someone as a big group of cars was tripping all over each other coming out of the hairpin (Druids). I don't think it was anything stupid, just one of those racing incidents as we all tried to find some space. My apologies if it was my fault!

Congrats to the winners and podium finishers.

Used my GP set up except for a gear change and can't understand why I needed to hards to make till the end. Was not a good night for me, wasn't a real challenge for anyone. It is what it is. Looking forward to bicycling at Snetterton. See you all then!

Thanks Tim, you found magic yourself, excellent car control and tire management.

I watched the replay of you save tires and grab positions late in the race. It was beautiful.

Intense racing with Tom and Benzene in Race 1, both versions of this track are a blast to drive
and i look forward to getting back here with the GT3 cars someday 8-)
