Well, I had fun. I felt I could have done better in qualifying, but just did not put a good lap together. At one point, I was 0.5 up after the second sector and threw it away in the third. Oh well. Had some good racing with Tom in race one. Race two was a bit less exciting, as I was always a second or two away from others. Good racing. See y'all next week. 8-)

Congrats to the winners and podium finishers.

In practice I was just a little off but close enough on time and same held true for Qualy putting me 5th on the grid. Before Qualy I got disconnected 3 or 4 times from the server and thought this was going to be my night. Pat suggested doing a DNS flush command which I did when the server was reset, seemed to solve my problems and hopefully takes care of future disconnections.

My race night was the tale of two extremes.

Race one: Going into turn one there was a lot of close quarter racing with Rich getting a great start coming up inside and Cam on my outside and carried all the way to turn 3. I checked up a little earlier as we came into the turn 3 tight right hander knowing I couldn't apex it like normal because Rich was to my inside and Pat on my tail, Pat tagged me sending the car off track like was on ice. I flew into a marshal stand ripping a tire off and killing the engine.

So that gridded me on pole for race two. Took off and cleared everyone with some breathing room. Kept a eye on 2nd place Brandon time gap to me the whole race, fortunately I was able to to stretch it out to allow for a couple of very minor error's. Was super careful about not making any major mistakes and throwing the lead away. Lonely race out front but I'll take it after the disastrous race one.

I just saw that I made a mistake with Rich's Champ Edition car, should be #76 not #28 in the description. I'll have a patch by the end of the week.

Results are posted (no pics yet).

Dave and I reviewed his Race 1 start for jump start. As far as I could tell it was clean, no movement till the lights went green. Either I or Dave would have brought the jump start to the stewards' attention.

I had already been thinking about invoking flag rules for Trans Am which equates to penalties for premature start and pit speed limit like we do with the Sports Car Challenge Series.

It's been a low priority thought to make the speed limit the same for all of the tracks so that could go hand in hand with invoking flag rules but if you have to pit for a drive-through penalty or damage driving slow through the pits won't make much of a difference in the outcome of the race for you.

The simplest alternative is to protest the start with a corresponding time penalty that way no one completely ruins his race due to a small mistake.
