An hour of thinking, calculating and typing vanished as logged-in status timed out

MFGDPOS!!!!

I don't have it in me to type it all over again but I need something to reference if this happens again, hopefully I can figure it out in the future.

KJ was awarded first place in Race 2 by vote. He discoed near the end of the last lap with a comfortable margin.

I had to project KJ's finishing time from average lap time (not including the opening lap), rFactor results "Lap ET" and Hutton's (second place, winner due to KJ's disco) race finish time.

KJ's projected finish time is 24:53.263, 5.003 sec ahead of Hutton. The margin was 5.4216 sec at the end of Lap 10.

5.4216 sec is a little over 4% of the pole time.

If we wish to set precedent then a margin of at least 4% of pole time must be realized at the end of the penultimate lap to be eligible for a reprieve due to a technical DNF. Reprieve should apply anywhere in the field LAST LAP ONLY.

I'm totally fine with it this time but somewhat reluctant to repeat it as it's one more step away from realism (see LeMans 2016 and Toyota) and there have been plenty of us fucked by discoes in the past, possibly to the extent of changing the eventual series champion.

Thoughts, please.

Also an apology to Brandon who I inadvertently accused of drifting into me Race 2, Lap 1 exiting T1.

I actually slightly turned into Brandon when steering away from Minkler who was in the middle of a moment that I contributed to earlier in the corner.

Congrats to the winners and podium finishers. I'll recant my disparaging remarks to Tom about this track earlier on in the week, fun track this layout. :D

Had the fast time this week but just came up a bit short in Qualy to land second on the grid behind Hutty.

Race One: Tom got the better start to pass me for 2nd but going down into turn one he went wide and I passed him back. From there Tom just stayed on my bumper constantly pressuring me, I succumbed and made a error allowing him to pass, which I re-passed drafting by on the front straight into turn one. Again with the constant pressure and I was just over driving the crap out of the car for a few laps right in front of him. Eventually I settled down and combined with Tom making a mistake I was able to pull a increasing gap. With few laps left I was unable to get up to Hutty who was able to set off by himself from the beginning lap.

Race two. Well huge land rush of cars going into turn one and starting on the back row there was lots of action ahead bumping and banging. Found myself in 5th place exiting turn 2 chasing Tom. Yoan and Tom banged together approaching the hump allowing me to move up to 4th behind Yoan. I was able to draft by Yoan in the braking zone for turn one and make the pass on lap 2. Now chasing Brandon chasing Pat in 1st, as we came to the last few corners on lap 3 our group tightened up. In turn 1 both Pat and Brandon washed out wide and I held tight inside exiting ahead of Pat taking the lead. From there I just put my head down and tried real hard to not make any stupid mistakes but constantly keeping an eye on the gap and who was behind me.

I watched the replays of both races, and race 2 seen a real battle for 2nd and 3rd behind me which helped me pull more and more time ahead. We came down to the last lap and seen Hutty had gotten by Brandon for 2nd a few lap earlier and pulled a little of my time back from me but I figured he wasn't going to catch me with a 4-5 second lead with a half a lap left. As long I as I kept it on the track I had it won.....................then the guys on TS told me I had discoed. Back to that watching the replay, I watched up to to the disco point and Hutty disappears into the ground then back to the garage same as everyone else. My replay continues with just me and like I told the TUM guys I was still racing and crossed the finish line. The clock stopped in the recording so can't give you the time, but live it was still going to the line and I tried to memorize it but didn't do a good job, it was a 24 something.

I thought I had cleared up this disco issue but hopefully this was just a one off, strangely enough talking to my son after the race we figured out his cat shut off his Xbox while he was playing at about the same time as I discoed, :?: I guess I'll go back to rebooting RF between races just to be safe.

I was regarded for a long time by my household as a tyrant for taking the internet Sunday evenings but everyone lived, adjusted and I think that they now understand; there's no way that I'm spending 6+ hours a week on this to risk a racing a championship race with other LAN traffic running through a router, I go straight to the modem.

I want to thank everyone for letting me take the win even with the disco. This is the second time I have won a race after a disco on the last lap, last time that remember was a race at Cadwell Park years ago, I was in a Lotus Cortina and had a large lead on the field.

As far as what we do Tom I think we just need to treat it on a special case by case basis if it comes up again with the 2nd place person involved with the discussion too along with others.

I could submit my replay verifying I raced it clean all the way across the line but sometimes it may happen to someone else that they disco to the desk top.

I have never had an issue before with anyone else in the house using the internet before this year and coincidentally since I got the newest router. My son will be moving to Japan after next weekend so may help this issue for me. And yes I would be A**hole Tyrant if I took over the internet on race night!

I've regained control over Liveracers, prompted by Luigi Bingo corrupting the three top times that we get with the Lite package with an unknown vehicle and impossible for Trans Am lap times.

I'll also be able to apply apply time penalties when needed.

Sorry I missed the race. With the holiday weekend plus a couple extra days (Mon/Tues) I completely lost track of what day it was. It didn't occur to me that it was Sunday night until about 8:30 Sunday night. DOH! All I knew all day was I didn't have to work "tomorrow".

It was probably good for me to get away from the computer for a while anyways.
