Since this will be second time this season that we will be making an adjustment because the race leader has discoed on the final lap, we will be adopting a new rule by which a technical DNF on the final lap is eligible for post race review and adjustment.

Pat Sweeney was in the lead when he crossed start/finish on Lap 16. He discoed between T1 and T2 with Rich Minkler close behind in second place.

As we did with KJ in a similar circumstance a number of races ago, I used Pat's average lap time to calculate what his total race time might have been if he had finished the final lap. That time is reflected in the Liveracers Race 2 Result graphic that I edited and gives Pat second place.

As I type this, though, I have an inkling that I projected KJ's total race time by adding his average flying lap to his total time at the end of the penultimate lap. That's more work but seems more accurate.

Anyway, the final results may differ from the graphics above as I will re-calculate Pat's extrapolated finish time but I'm not going to redo the Race 2 image again.

I'm sorry i missed this race, I was looking forward to it.
I hurt my back yesterday, making the bed of all things. Couldn't sit. I could lay down, or I could stand. The transition between the two was exceptionally troublesome. So i had to stand this one out. Had a brave face on, but Mrs. Porter saw right through it. "It must be bad if you are not racing tonight". yup.
Anyway. Getting better. See you next week.

Sorry to hear that, Tim. "Making the bed ..." We'll pretend you said something a little more strenuous or romantic. Fun racing for me. I'm glad I made it. (Maybe I'll tell my wife I can't make the bed any more.) I'm happy to see I was NOT the slowest car on the straight for once.

I recalculated Pat's Race 2 by two methods after discovering that I made a mistake while adding up Pat's lap times to come up with an aggregate time.

Rich Minkler's total race time through Lap 17 = 1390.8092

Pat's total race time through Lap 16 = 1308.8919 sec

Sweeney's average of laps 2-16 = 81.0355 sec

Sweeney's projected Lap 17 finish time = 1308.8919 + 81.0355 = 1389.9274 = 1st place by 0.8818 sec

Sweeney's average of laps 1-16 = 81.8057 sec

Sweeney's projected Lap 17 finish time = 1308.8919 + 81.8057 = 1390.6976 = 1st place by 0.1116 sec

Sweeney was leading by 0.4937 sec at the end of Lap 16.

Minkler conceded that Pat probably would have won the race.

Perhaps conveniently, the average of the two methods = 0.4967 sec which is damn close to the margin after Lap 16.

Let's give Pat the win and hope that we don't ever have to calculate this again.

Sorry to see that, hope it's fixes itself as suddenly.

Congrats to the winners and podium finishers. Sorry for your back problems Tim, I know it really sucks, I've been having back issues myself the last two months. Thanks Tom for all the effort in calculating the times for Pat's disco and yes lets hope this not a regular thing happening to guys in first place. ;)

I didn't get any practice in last week, only official practice before the race and it showed. I was off pace by about a second and Qualy time the best I could do was 7th on the grid. :(

Race one: Don't remember much about this race but somehow I ended up 4th in this one, I think it was more to others misfortune then anything.

Race two: Lot of bumping and banging going into turn one and up the through the S's on the 1st lap losing spots. I managed to move up a little and as the race got past the half way mark I was strongly in 7th place. I didn't have much of a chance to catch up any further, Hutty had left me in the dust and 8th on back probably wasn't going to catch me either. Then with 3 or 4 laps to go my internet crashed. Took about 5mins or so to come back. I jumped back into the server after the race was over but kept getting booted, so I rebooted my PC and then it went into installing an Windows update.

I like Watkins Glen, it is one of my better tracks and I have 1,000+ laps here. So to say I'd sure like to redo this race night over would be understatement. Oh well onto next week.

Congrats to Dave and Eric on your wins and to the rest of the podium as well.

Seems long ago since we raced and I've forgotten most of it by now. I do remember Dave setting me up for a last turn pass for the lead. Super clean and very well under control. A few nail biters side by side in T1, flings through the S's, watching the wall on the right, close enough to put a finger on it LOL, love this place. I had a blast like normal.

Thank you Tom for all the effort and work concerning the projection. Most appreciate and agree - lets hope this doesn't become the norm. That's just too much work. Discos could be treated just like mechanical failures, they happen.

See everyone Sunday. Good Luck fellas, cheers :D

Final results are posted (with pics).

I think that if I simply take finish line and garage pics I'll be able to keep up and include pics with the results to appreciate the effort that goes into wins and the excellent custom skins that adorn most of the cars.

I'm sorry that I had not lately but I was spending a shameful amount of time taking pics from all over the track and had to stop.

Thanks Tom, I've always treated the pics as some sort of a trophy. :D
