Bah! The same mistake, in the same spot, in both races. A bit of rear tire on the grass, and the 'Cuda made a dive for the sidelines. In race one, I lost my front air splitter, so it was a bit slippery. Not all bad though. The racing was good with Barry once I got going again. In race two, I only lost my dignity, no damage to the car. Too bad, as I had some hot lap times. Gave the top podium away.

Congrats to the winners and podium finishers. This is a very technical high speed track and always makes for some interesting racing, small mistakes can cost lots of time but can lead to big mistakes here.

I was off a little in time being in the mid to upper 2:22's and Qualy time I barely got into a them until the last lap, but my 2:22.4 was only good for 6th on the grid.

Race one: Don't remember a lot of this race and for some reason I don't have the replay. I think more due to others misfortune then great racing on my part I ended up 3rd trying to catch Pat. Got close to him but back to that minor mistake part I talked about, he was able to gap ahead of me with no chance of catching him running out of laps.

Race two: After all the crazy practice starts (Which were needed!) the real start I was not trying to rush into turn one knowing that there could be issues. As it was I got side slammed sideways when Hutty and Pat came together in the braking zone shooting me off to the pit exit. Fortunately I was still moving forward and didn't hit anything. From there it was just making passes when I could and finally got into 4th but not enough laps left to catch Pat in 3rd.

I need to address something here, a big sorry to Barry. I watched the replay of race two and in the opening lap coming into the brake zone for the last corner I was behind Barry when he hit the brakes hard and I swerved hard right to miss him. The replay shows something I have never seen before, his right rear corner crumples in and he goes sliding off track as I go around him not touching him. I watched from various angles and it was close but I didn't come in contact and zero damage to my left front corner. I didn't even know that it happened. So again sorry Barry. The only thing I can think of is some sort of lag/ ping issue? Or maybe collision box issue?

Results are posted (pics coming).

I'll write more but congratulations Dave Hutton and Eric Richard for their class championships giving AMC its first titles in both classes.

Both will get Champion Edition cars added to our league patch.

Highlights from this weekend for me where tricking Dave and Pat into a high pressure finale, pole, race 1 win, overall win, setting a new pole lap record (by only 0.018 second from Brandon's 2016 season time also with the '70 Camaro) and that the weekend was very likely the closest overall points between the top 6 pros with the top three separated by two points (253-252-251) and the next three TIED with 249!

I realized late in the week that because we throw out the two lowest weekend scores for each driver, there was nothing that Pat could do to take over the points lead but I didn't mention it, hoping that it would make the last race more immersive for those two.

Anyway, I'll start a season review thread soon, good place for everyone to post their thoughts on the whole of the season.
