Here's what I have at the moment: the usual USA T/A tracks plus extras to fit a 15 round season, bearing in mind that GTC will probably be southern hemisphere with the Aussie tracks that would also be good for T/A:

Long season but bear in mind that anyone can miss 3 weekends without hurting his championship so in a way it's 12 race weekends...

2018 Sep 23 - Simca Abarth 1150 Corsa Championship Finals
2018 Sep 30 - OFF
2018 Oct 07 - TA Official Test / Dave Berman Memorial Mosport
2018 Oct 14 - Round 1- Vanport, Portland International Raceway, Portland, Oregon, USA
2018 Oct 21 - Round 2 - Thunderhill Raceway Park, Willows, California, USA
2018 Oct 28 - Round 3 - Sears Point, Sonoma Raceway, Sonoma, California, USA
2018 Nov 04 - Round 4 - Laguna Seca, Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca, Salinas, California, USA
2018 Nov 11 - Round 5 - Willow Springs International Raceway, Rosamond, California, USA
2018 Nov 18 - Round 6 - Riverside International Raceway, Riverside, california, USA
2017 Nov 25 - Round 7 - Miller, Utah Motorsports Campus,Tooele, Utah, USA
2017 Dec 02 - Round 8 - Brainerd International Raceway, Brainerd, Minnesota, USA
2017 Dec 09 - Round 9 - Road America, Elkhart Lake, Winsconsin, USA
2018 Dec 16 - Round 10 - Mid Ohio
2018 Dec 23 - Round 11 - Watkins Glen
2018 Dec 30 - Round 12 -
2019 Jan 06 - Round 13 -
2019 Jan 13 - Round 14 - Road Atlanta
2019 Jan 20 - Round 15 - Sebring

Daytona?
Carolina Motorsports Park?
VIR?
Pacific Raceway? (actual real life T/A venue)
Meadowdale? (actual real life T/A venue)
??? we need two more

I have all the tracks I used for the first T/A season and were the real tracks used in '69/ '70 except for one.

One that comes to mind to use is Texas World Speedway, it was a fun track of using part of the banked oval and a road course. I'll look at them and maybe there is some that would work good and be a new track for most in T/A.

Thanks, KJ, great suggestion.

I found a couple versions of TWS.

I only tried "v2" so far but I like it in both the clockwise and counterclockwise directions. Clockwise seems to be a quicker lap but I don't have an opinion yet on which direction is more fun or which one would race better.

I'll try the other version later and install whichever is better on the server and link an upload so that we can do some wheel to wheel testing in both lapping directions.

I think that either layout would race better than Meadowdale and it would be nice to have another new track especially when at least 13 are very familiar by now.

Texas World Speedway here: viewtopic.php?f=93&t=3603&p=58984#p58984

Better than Daytona with these cars and the best infield road course for them that I can think of.

I've hoped for the newest motorcycle layout of Indianapolis but never found that, Rockingham is too narrow, New Hampshire is okay but never moved me enough to consider it, there might be some others that I can't think of off the top of my head.

Both directions have merit but recommend CCW. I think CCW might be a little more technical and race better and was probably the real-life direction.

It'll be on the server starting Sunday Sep 16 night, appreciate feedback.

Nice to see Mid-Ohio. iRacers avoid it like it causes cancer but it's one of my favourite tracks.

KJ is looking into at least one other track, Bridgehampton or Bryar, I can't remember.

About six of us stuck around last Sunday to try TWS in both directions.

Based on that and the realization that very familiar or simple tracks have the best chance to produce close racing, I'm less enthusiastic about TWS. It's one-lined and the fast line puts you really close to the edge of the track so risky to force a pass on the inside. I like how the oval is integrated and there is at least one fun corner, standing starts are a bit tricky on the banking but manageable. I think that I prefer counter-clockwise, it is believed that ESR raced it clockwise during the weekday Trans Am series many years ago.

After the Simca races on Sunday, I'll enable on the server Pacific Raceway, probably TWS and Meadowdale and whatever KJ comes up with. Hopefully we can narrow that down to one or two tracks to leave up through Sep 30 after which it'll be Mosport in preparation for the Dave Berman Memorial races.

The tentative final schedule is posted at the top.

We had a good turnout for the first test @ Pacific Raceway, drivers will have the most time to learn it this way and geographically it fits better as Round 1 so we'll kick off the season in Kent, Washington with Portland the next weekend.

If I missed a major holiday then we'll adjust for it but otherwise everybody is eligible for three off weekends without hurting their points tally.

I know this is kind of late but looking at the map it hit me. We are kind of heavy on the west coast tracks, and all good tracks, but nothing in the middle. Two good middle of the country tracks that we have raced on before are High Plains Raceway in Colorado (Rich's home track) and Mid America Raceway in Missouri. I don't think we have raced Trans Am at either one. Come to think of it High Plains I raced on with the old SRSS league and not EFNET.

I have both tracks and will put in a rar file here.

You decide, please, KJ, I've pretty much used up my track selection time. Your choice will replace Meadowdale which gives us plenty of time.

Tom I was actually thinking more like dropping one of the west coast tracks in favor of something new. Meadow Dale is a great track and do not want to drop it, we have only used it a few times.

These are the three that I would consider:
1: Laguna Seca, just my opinion but we have run thousands of laps here in various series and usually race gets strung out.
2: Thunder Hill, good track and again have raced it a lot another one that can get strung out.
3: Sears Point, a good track but been run a ton.

My number one vote would be to give Laguna Seca a rest this season. Yes I know it's iconic and all that. ;)

The first decision is whether to include High Plains or Mid America THEN it's which track to drop.

From memory, I would rate those two below every track on the schedule but I'll do some laps so that I might have an informed opinion.

I have a feeling that we haven't used those tracks because they suck but, whatever, I'll race anywhere.

For me, Meadowdale has merit because it was a real TA track and it's unique but cars flying through the air is unrealistic. I included it largely because it was originally KJ's suggestion several seasons ago.

The closest finish in ESR history is at Thunderhill and Sears Point will be the NASCAR layout this year to freshen it up and certainly a lot of fun with these cars. Eric, for one, LOVES Laguna Seca and that's good enough for me to keep it.

If I can get the right High Plains, enable High Plains, Meadowdale and Mid America for Friday and Saturday night, we'll get our fill of Mosport on Sunday.

Please post High Plains, KJ. The ESR server has Mid America but I had go look for High Plains and there is no telling whether we have the same one; I probably do but I would rather be certain so that I can upload it to the server once.

Well, now this is more of a problem than I expected, 1/2 in a good way, though.

High Plains and Mid America are both pretty cool.

I think that I blew off High Point because I once mentioned it to Rich Minkler for whom it would be a home track and he didn't seem very enthusiastic.

It seems like Mid America fell into an ESR chasm with other good tracks that don't get used.

I'd have to say that nether one has a particularly fun corner but both would seemingly race well.

Neither is very technical.

Mid America is much "prettier"

Mid America has two layouts, no idea which one KJ is advocating.

Mid America is essentially flat.

High Plains has lots of elevation changes, reminds me of Thunderhill, could be a straight swap, one hilly Club track for another. Needs a gravel patch, the gravel rolls like asphalt.

With the season a week away, schedule should be finalized by now but we want to make the most drivers happy and have the best chance at picking up some occasional drives like Luciano.

KJ likes to threaten us with new tracks but never seems to get around to posting them  so I'll do it ASAP.

Fair enough, not trying to start anything. I'll find my version of High Plains and put it up here. There are two layouts to Mid America and we have run both, I think the longer layout was fun if I remember right.

Thanks, KJ.

Yours is probably better because it has two MAS files.

It's a little harder for me to upload to the new server but I should have the tracks up in about an hour.

Mehhh.

Server is up.

I'm over High Plains.

I almost counted but it seems like 20 corners, almost of all of them blind, two or three that park you after a blind crest, no flow whatsoever, at least not with 10 laps under my belt but at the same time I can usually understand the potential of a track before I know my way around it.

My initial praise probably came from wanting to like it and a couple of laps understanding that I had little idea where the track went so it would get better. It hasn't.

This is what happens when I want to get something done ASAP but feel like I have no time, then I shift my priorities to free up time and end up doing real life shit at 3:00 AM.

I continually ran about a race distance at High Plains a few minutes ago.

Found a little flow and the stop-and-go stuff would probably tighten up the field unless someone gets spun.

Unfortunately, the bit of flow reveals the technical nature of the track which equates to more laps for everyone in order to be quick enough to have fun. My perspective is skewed because the technical tracks on the schedule are very familiar to me but it does seem like HP is every bit as technical as the Northern California tracks.

My main concern is the Sportsmen who everyone benefits from being closer to Pro pace, it seems like it would be tough for them here.

Coffey wanted to some laps tonight so maybe we'll be able to see how it goes wheel-to-wheel.

Thunderhill gearing is close enough.

TB after 20 laps = 1:57.421

Ran a bunch of laps at High Plains last night with Hutty and Pat, Rich came on a little latter. Took about 6 to 10 laps to not go off at a couple of the tough corners  then after that just working on going faster. Had a best time of 1:56.9XX. Track races well, it is a little narrower and trickyer then a lot of the tracks we run, really like the elevation changes.

Then we switched to Mid America, great track, looks great, this track needs to be on the schedule. Easy track to learn and wide racing surface.

Eric popped in and ran both tracks too, don't know his opinion but the conclusions above are the opinions of the rest of us. :D

We'll talk about it tonight but additionally High Plains replays are mediocre as is the appearance of the track.

After a fair amount of debate and discussion, we'll be dropping Riverside and adding Mid America to the schedule.

Riverside and Meadowdale tracks no longer exist. The land that was Riverside International Raceway is now covered with streets and homes and Meadowdale is a nature preserve.

The 2015 schedule was only 11 weekends and was confined entirely to the United States. It included Meadowdale and Riverside.

2016 was 15 rounds split between USA and Australia. It included Riverside but not Meadowdale.

2017 was 11 rounds, all USA, neither Meadowdale nor Riverside were included.

By that math, Meadowdale is due.

In addition to the post-race poll, I intend this season to include tracks stats like how many drivers within 1.5% of pole, number of drivers to finish within 1 second of the car ahead and the time gap between 1st and 5th place to give us something quick and easy to reference and help us evaluate tracks.

This decision is final not spending another minute on it beyond updating the schedule and the map.
