Had a good go of it in race 1. kept my cool and pace was good. Always someone haunting my rear view. I believe it was Max. Made me nervous.

During the start of race two, I embarrassed myself by spinning right in the middle of traffic. I was too wound up in an attempt to not hit anybody while driving off my racing line. Should have just relaxed. Apologies to those it affected. But, the racing was excellent once I got turned back around and caught up to Barry. I tried to get by him, and thought I had him on a couple occasions, but he remained in control and in the lead, so it turned out to be a fun experience.

See you next week.

I haven't been able to watch the replays but I am happy about a fair amount of good that happened last Sunday.

I was lucky to notice Luca Bernacchini on Liveracers and with the new server I was able to text chat with him from my office PC versus running upstairs and 5-10 minutes later joining the server. Ahead of the race, my appraisal of Mr Bernacchini was based on his excellent communication, prompt registration, fast installation of our league patch, his competitiveness and lap times. I was very happy to hear that Luca drove very well, "like he was driving a real car", in Coffey's words. A Top 5 in the Pro class in his debut is excellent and he persevered despite some canine issues in Race 2 at something like 4:00 AM on a Monday when most of us would have just hit ESCape.

Fingers crossed that you can survive Mondays, Luca, we'll miss you if aren't able to keep joining us.

Jeff, Anthony and Rich Coffey filled out the grid further so despite missing the rarely absent Rich Minkler we had a nice for late 2018 14 cars on the grid but more importantly 14 racers with good sportsmanship, not a single knucklehead among us. We tend to lament low grid count but really it really needs to be about tightening up the field top to bottom. The Mustang seems to be a POS despite some success at the beginning of this series many years ago so it's hurt the Pro class and can't be doing Barry any favors.

I strongly encouraged Coffey to not fuck around with every single car like he did for Round 11 and just stick with one for the weekend. The Firebird was a nice escape from the loose Challenger and the understeery Mustang and he didn't divide his laps between 5 cars so he was better prepared. His work schedule will certainly prevent him from entering any more races this year but if he does he'll be required to use the Firebird, one change per season within two weeks of his first race like everyone else. Nice to see "Sasquatch" on the podium again.

Tim Porter got his second straight Race 1 win.

No DNFs.

I really thought that we'd reset the lap record (still held by Kiby from 5 years ago) but disappointingly it didn't happen.

Brandon pushed me early in the week, then I think that Luca pushed us both from. I had the "misfortune" of getting on the server Sunday and on my third lap posting a 1:35.0 which made me believe that the 34s were a given. I can only believe that I overdrove every single one of the 100+ subsequent laps but someone should have been able to do it.

I don't remember much about the races. Coffey went off in T1 after getting the best start of the front two rows. I persist in using a tall 1st gear, the Firebird has the same transmission but can use a shorter final drive because it peaks and revs higher so there you go, better launch at Mid Ohio.

KJ bumped me a couple of times and we lost touch with Brandon. After many laps, I caught up but I was never close enough on the back straight to attempt a pass. We MIGHT have been side by side at Carousel and Turn 13 once but that might have been during practice or may have been with Pat in Race 2.

I got kinda a cheap championship win in the summer because Brandon missed too many races so I won't at all be disappointed if he claims the Trans Am title but neither KJ nor I have one on our resumes. KJ is long overdue so I'm content for the championship that Kevin took the overall and thereby moved closer to Brandon, who I am still convinced is the actual leader if you factor in the throwaways. I MIGHT break from custom and deduct the throwaways in next week's results so that we all have a clearer picture.

Anyway, thanks everyone for racing and see you at Watkins Glen.

Race one: I was able to get into 3rd behind Tom right away and trying to stay tight to him, sorry about the bumps. We were starting to get up to Brandon and I was thinking cool this is going to be fun. But made a slight error and lost some time to Tom, from there kept losing time making a few errors and drifting back towards Pat. So now had Pat nipping at my bumper then made a bigger mistake opening the door big enough to let him go by and struggled to stay with him. Finished in 4th.

Race two; Got a good start and with some luck moved up. After a lap or two was chasing Hutty chasing Bobby in 1st. Hutty got by and little further on I got by, then I got by Hutty. From that point on was trying not make the mistakes of race 1. Seen that Coffey had gotten into 2nd so started watching time gap till the end.

So many nice words...
Thank you.

I'll try again with Watkins Glen. I practiced a lot today. Tomorrow some laps again. Then I'll set an alarm to 3AM and I'll try to join.
