That was a zany welcome back. :D Had a great start in race one, but could not find my qualifying speed. Sweeney and Mink passed me pertty readily. Once they came together, I had a bit of breathing room. “Just stay smooth.” I told myself. Alas, I did not tell myself, “Don’t hit the inside wall on the last corner.” Threw away a victory! Oh well.

I had a bonkers-good start in race two. I managed to get up to fourth after turn one. Fought with Prins for a little bit, then was able to build up a bit of a gap. Then, I got majorly sideways in turn one, allowing Prins by again, with Sweeny right behind. We had an awesome last-lap battle for third. Really fun. :)

See y’all next week.

I was lulled into accepting the track how it is because we've used it at least a few times over the years but we should look at removing or moving the wall inside T1 before we race here again.

It didn't really bother me that I hit it all by myself in Race 2 but it affected the outcome of Race 1 when Rich Minkler hit it trying to tighten his line to make room for Pat. There is no real risk of anyone cutting the track there, it's just taking away racing room.

Globally it was a nice event. A smooth race 1, then a terrible race 2.
I'm not use to reverse grid and I have to say that I like it a lot. I started with the idea to be very prudent, but suddenly I had the silly idea to try an impossible overtake, where luckily other people did not involved.
After that, everything turned into "hurry mode" and I met both the walls at the beginning and at the end of the main straight.

I hope to be able to race even next week.

Congrats to the winners and podium finishers.

Still trying to make the Alpine A310 work for me and struggling a bit. So it showed in my times, I can not match the performance that Pat is getting with the same car. Qualified 10th on the grid, last of the Pro's. :(

Race one: Great start and moved up a bit, from there was just driving by myself and only picked up spots due to others misfortune.

Race two: Started 12th and was able to get to 5th after turn one, that is the only highlight. Braking hard for turn two lost the back end and spun off track hitting the wall. Came back on in last place, from there tried to pick up spots and kept getting in to trouble. The rest of the race was just racing around the back of the field so a very disappointing frustrating race for me.

I'll have to work on it this week and see if I can do better at the next race. ;)

First of all a warm welcome back to Cam, Luca, Fernando, Hugo and Yowan. Really missed you guys !

Race 1 and Race 2 : Like all the trans am races, had a blast running with Bobby Lee. Race 1 I had the last overtake and took the win. Race 2 uncle bobby took it home !

Really bro that was fun, competitive and fair racing. Always a pleasure to race next to you !

Too bad Max couldnt make the start.

Cya all at Melbourne next week :D

Great way to kick off the season Eric :D
Congrats on the race 1 win brother and good to have you back in the sportsmen class 8-)
Seem no matter what happens we always end up racing for the same piece of real estate and can always race hard but keep it neat and clean

Very cool to see the numbers growing with new and familiar names coming out for some killer racing
Welcome and welcome back! :D

See you guys next event..
Hopefully Max, Jimmy and Tim will make it out :P

Aside from the server / rFactor issues, it feels like that was one of the best season openers we've ever had.

Returning and drivers supplementing the core week-in-week-out regulars is fantastic. Rich Coffey and Luca both sacrifice sleep and surely suffer for it on Monday. I appreciate it very much and am confident that all the other guys do, too.

42 cars on the grid back in the peak of rFactor popularity sounds incredible but 17 good racers who are also good people all in the same cars is as good or better and plenty for everyone to have someone to race with but we have 20 registered drivers so there are even better times to look forward to.

The entire Pro class was within a second in qualifying despite KJ not having a great time outside his comfort zone with a rear engine car at a track that we don't use much.

Moving Eric Richard back to Sportsman is clearly the right move. Eric and Bobby Lee picked up their rivalry where it left off in Trans Am to trade wins but Anthony Aden demonstrated that he had the speed to run with them by securing pole and the Race 2 Fast Lap. The majority of the other Sportsmen weren't far off so it's looking good for them, too.

As the laps piled on, I lost my way with the final complex of corners which seemingly should have been the 240Z's strength which probably kept me out of the 14s but I did improve under braking for T1 which helped me during the races.

The races are largely a blur but I remember a great battle with Pat in Race 1, some nice back and forth with Rich Minkler, great driving by Barry King and mature, patient driving by Yoan, my Datsun on two wheels twice, Pat and Rich off at T1, Cam off at the final corner, being gifted the fight for the lead when at one point it looked like a Top 5 at best, tagging the wall at T1 to be stopped in the middle of the track until everyone went by then failing on my clutch drop snap spin to t-bone the barrier with a 90 degree half spin rather than the 180 degrees that I needed but putting my head down to catch the car that was far ahead and ultimately lose a race to the finish line against Barry.

Thanks everyone, hope to see all of you and the few absentees at Melbourne. Bear in mind that we all drop our worst three race weekends so anyone that missed Round 1 or had a bad race is still completely in the hunt for a championship.

Congrats to Rich, Eric and Bobby on your wins and to the rest of the podium as well. I'v always liked the track. Just don't ever remember the curbing having the ability to launch your car to outerspace either. I believe what happened one of my tires hit dead nuts on the start of it and it was essentially a ramp. I ended up losing a couple of seconds landing square on my wheels heading into the last turn. Rich witnessed it and was impressed. But then that lead to the next problem. Him and I were racing hard and I ran him into the barriers in T1. I did not realize he had no room. I was paying more attention in making the turn. Ruined his race - sorry about that. I'm sure something will get me back at some point.

As mentioned earlier, had some great racing with Tom. I think we swapped positions a few times. Had fun chasing Cam for a bit too. And Hutty's bimmer was a forec to reckon with. Think I managed an out brake on the indised of 1 to get by him. Anyway, the races at a blurr at this point. Having fun, I like the car and looking forward to the new season. Cheers Fellas!
