OK. So this series changed my mind.
It's quite alright to race modern day cars.
Camaro at Lime Rock
Hurican at Road Atlanta
I had a great time.
I'm sure though, that they would take a lot of practice to squeeze them right. So maybe not our first series.

Reminder that with rF2 you need not leave the server to change cars.

On of the in-game screens there is a "select car" button near the bottom.

I like this option for the variety. Feels much like Enduracers.

Nice polished mod, cars seem pretty balanced.

Good car selection here. Cars feel a little numb but well balanced... I'd race them.

I agree with Dale.

After buying the Studio 397 GT3 Pack, I like the Simtek GT3s more for our short term club purposes.

The Simtek car set has almost as much variety, no disappointments with graphics nor sounds and what feels like a more moderate grip level (the S397 cars seem too easy at 8-9ths).

Down the road, we'll probably have to go with the S397 cars if we are to race GT3s and be mainstream but the Simteks can help us decide if we want to be another GT3 league.

It hopefully would be relatively minor Big Picture but the paid DLC cars cannot simply be uploaded to the server, NRT will have to buy and and add like everyone else, no idea at this point in time whether a commercial entity has to pay more for them than we do so that is another point in favor of the Simtek GT3s (or Enduracers, which we can group with the Simtek cars). The days of "mods" are behind us, any car can be on the server...

Thanks Tom, I was going to buy that also on Monday then totally forgot about it Monday evening. So guess I'll have to wait for another sale, was also going to buy something for the trucking sims and again forgot too.

You should be able to log into your VM, run the Steam client one time with your personal login (don't check the Remember Me option) to sync your subscribed content. I don't remember any restrictions on paid content for servers... everyone connecting still needs to pay for the nod.

There's also the steamcmd command line client that you can use to update the game or specific packages with your login credentials (or anon for S397 base components).

I made a Windows BAT file that prompted for user/pass/packageID then ran the command.
