We are kicking off our rFactor 2 official racing with a series of test races in January 2020.

All of these races will feature our usual Twin Sprint Pro Am format with two 22-25 minute races and a full grid inversion for Race 2.

The second of these Test Race weekends will be a spec series race with the newly created Lotus Cortina.

IMPORTANT

Another upgrade related glitch has presented itself for which we must manually work around.

The 150 HP engine is not being applied when selected in any of the cars that also have the 140 HP engine option.

PLEASE PICK A CAR THAT DOES NOT HAVE THE 140 HP ENGINE AVAILABLE IN UPGRADES

Please configure your 1965 BSCC Lotus Cortina with these upgrades:

1. 150 HP Team Lotus engine
2. racing spec fully adjustable transmission
3. historic racing spec suspension
4. historic racing spec front anti-roll bar

I need to analyze a few of the HDV files but looks like we'll be using any of the 1965 Historic Race Cars with upgrades:

1. 150 HP Team Lotus engine
2. racing spec fully adjustable transmission
3. historic racing spec suspension
4. historic racing spec front anti-roll bar

Details like bumpers and wheels would be open but in order to lock in any of the upgrades I think that I have to force all of them. I'll know better next week once it's on the server.

I'm working on forcing the upgrades on the server but it's not working the way that I expected.

Well.
Got a new job. Two and a half hours away. No place to live there yet. My house here is not sold.
It starts Monday.
So.
I'll be driving up Sunday evening, and staying with...gulp... my mother in law, and coming back Friday.
I will miss this Sunday's race, and probably a few following, while I get settled.
A stressful time, and disappointed I will miss this car. I wanted it.
Will see you in a few weeks.

Congratulations?

Onward and upward I hope...

I expect that the Cortinas will see more action here in the years to come.

Sounds like mixed blessings a bit, Tim. Sorry you won't make it. You made a great choice. Hope all works out for you.

It'll be a good job. Cushy gig really. I was looking forward to it, but the time frame is unexpected.
Yup. Onward and upward.

Congrats Tim.

I'm working on getting a coworker to jump in with us, hopefully Saturday night for some practice. He's the guy that got me to buy the VR, he'd had it for a week or so before me.

Well, it has turned out that it is seemingly impossible to force upgrades on the server. I spent at least two hours last night trying everything that I could think of and find on the internet but there is nothing to stop a driver from selecting the 225 HP engine.

It looks like MAYBE the other upgrades (transmission, suspension, FARB) are in effect because I see that someone got the message "configured vehicle class does not pass filter" but a little later I also see a 203 km/h trap speed which is about 20 over the speed with the 150 HP engine and is about what I was seeing with the full race Cosworth engine.

Frustrating...

I am going to be conflicted with NFL NFC playoff game vs racing

I'll be on immediately after the game, sooner if a blowout, will restart the weekend @ 16:30 PDT.
