We are kicking off our rFactor 2 official racing with a series of test races in January 2020.

All of these races will feature our usual Twin Sprint Pro Am format with two 22-25 minute races and a full grid inversion for Race 2.

The third of these Test Race weekends will be with the Aussie Legends car set "Group C" cars.

This race is open to everyone but drivers who are slower than 105% of the pole time will be moved to the back of the grid for Race 2.

I had to trim the car selection, the Holden LX Torana and Chevrolet Camaro Z/28 are too quick. They are no longer enabled on the race server.

The remaining Holdens and Fords seem to be well matched to each other, the Chrysler seems to give up some acceleration and top speed for cornering to produce a similar lap time.

I am hoping that we as a group have a nice turn out for this one as I think that I've heard Barry long for the Aussie Legends cars time and time again for at least five years and he is the honorary race director for this one ;)

The only extra effort required is to download and install the cars.

The track is nice looking, familiar to most from its rFactor version, easy to learn and fun.

105% cutoff for this one, gentlemen.

Drivers slower than 105% of the pole time will be moved to the back for Race 2.

I expect pole to be in the 1:04s possibly 1:03s.

Bump for this topic.

I used Carstat to check some of the physics for these cars and they support my impressions from testing with Dave Hutton.

The two Fords have the same weight, power and tire grip.

The Holden is a little lighter with a little less power but about the same tire grip, IIRC.

The Chrysler is a fair bit lighter than the other three, less power and more grip from the tires. A UPS truck sounds better, unfortunately.

If you are genuinely a die hard fan of rF1 Historic GT & Touring Cars then you'll love these cars. Others should still like them ;)

As nice as a spec class is for assuring that everyone has equal equipment, it's a little more interesting when cars go about producing similar lap times with different strengths, creates passing opportunities beyond those that the track provides.

DAMN IT! I'm going to miss this one too, and I like these cars. Last minute schedule change. My job is not cooperating at all this month. As my schedule is now, it looks better after this week.

Have fun!

Wow... I suck in these cars. I'll be there tomorrow night most likely lapping by myself at the back.

A little setup help couldn't hurt.
