Poor races for me, "off" today, generally lacking focus, distracted Race 2 after a call to restart, worst overall Portland result for me as a Pro.

Was hoping we'd reset the pole lap record but fitting that Vancouver resident Rich Coffey will likely now hold it forever.

Fun few laps with Cam and KJ in Race 1, the rest of the weekend was very forgettable.

The top of the standings will be close with Brandon Smith and Rich Minkler trading wins. Fast laps and pole will decide which of two was the overall winner.

Like Tom not a good race night for me either. Race one went ok for me after a poor qualifying session. After the bad crashing practice starts for race two I was trying to take it easy going into turn one. I was in the middle of the track with Tom in front of me slightly to the right, I reacted to Pat moving to the left looking like he was trying fill the gap to tuck in behind Tom. A slight turn along with hitting the brakes caused me to hit Barry on my Left sending me back into Pat on my right then I got sent hard left into Barry again as we both went off track causing flats for us.

So all my fault and I apologize to Barry and anyone else I affected in race two.

I'll be out of town next Sunday so have a good race guys.

Glad as always to join you for the start of the last rF1 TA series. I was lucky to get Sportsman pole and then spent most of Heat 1 making mistakes. Seems once I got behind and close to Barry, I'd head off tarmac again. Barry was running well and consistently.

Heat 2 was a little better for me. I avoided the major CARnage. Tom and Cam tried to do some gentle on-track body work, but I don't think it helped either the aesthetics or the aero. Once I got ahead of Barry, I managed to stay there by keeping focused.

I was slow on the straights and realized I hadn't "upgraded" to the no-missed-shifts and was having to come off the throttle to shift. I didn't want to return to the setup screen to change it because my computer started acting like an a**hole just before I joined the server. I applied the upgrade today and took another 3 tenths off my pb. Too well. My life should be a little easier when I get to join you again in this series. Of course the next venue is Sears. Not a whole lotta straights, but it still may help if I make it.

Not a great evening for me either. Race one was great for a while. Dave and I had an awesome duel going. We went side-by-side many times through the first complex. With Brandon and Rich disappearing, I thought we would be faster if we stopped fighting. The next time Dave challenged me, I didn't fight and just slotted in behind. Alas, I lost pace after that and eventually spun, holding up KJ and Tom. The last few laps with them were very exciting. Nice racing guys.

Race two was forgettable. I think I spun and stuff.

I'll be matter-of-fact. As far as rough driving and incidents go, that's always the way it's been. No amount of pleading, protests or penalties will change it. I've just accepted it as part of racing at efnetsimracing. We have a field of hyper-competitive drivers that give no quarter. *shrug*

I would like to commend Dave Hutton for racing me very clean. As I said, we went side-by-side several times through the first few corners. We may have touched once or twice, but we were aware of each other's position and gave each other respect and space to race. Nice racing Dave.

I'll write more later.

I would also like to commend Rich Mink. I saw in one of the replays that he chose to take to the grass and back off rather than try to squeeze in on the straight once the track narrowed after the pit exit. That was considerate and conscientious driving.

Similar example: I went side-by-side a few times with others on the back straight. I felt that the high-speed left is a dangerous place to try to go side-by-side, so I backed off and slotted in behind my fellow racer. I did that three times. I knew there would be contact if I forced it and there was a better chance that I could pull off a draft-pass on the front straight anyway.

We need drivers to be willing to give and take and not just take.
