We will be implementing rolling starts for this round with NO PRACTICE STARTS planned in hopes of cleaner starts, a more competitive Race 2 and added realism.

Practice offline and allow for an extra lap of fuel.

We may shorten up the second race if we lose too much time to the Race 1 rolling start. If things go smoothly, the difference will be less than 5 minutes overall for both races.

The races are scheduled to be 12 laps each not 16 as posted earlier in the week.

I assume we will be doing a manual rolling start, as in the pole sitter paces the first lap then calls green? I seem to remember the pace car being flaky or just not working at many tracks.

Hybrid. There will be a pace car but we'll ignore it, pole will pace the field. This way, the server will announce the green so that it is a surprise to everyone and the leader doesn't have to deal with it nor have an advantage. With flag rules off, there is no nannying from the server to stay behind whomever, speed up, etc.

The leader will have to gather the field before the final hairpin and maintain a steady and low speed under 35 mph / 60 kph from there till the green which I expect will come within 50 yards of start/finish.

I did a few pace laps and starts last night. I found it easiest to roll around in the tallest possible gear so that the engine is less responsive to throttle movement. The hardest part was judging whether I had a wheel up on the car alongside but I guess that doesn't matter, second on grid will probably have to assure that he's slightly behind the leader by positioning so that he can see the leader and the cars behind have little to be concerned with beyond following the car in their row as closely as practicable.
