Good racing, guys. I wrecked in race one. It seems I can't keep from spinning this car. Race two was better. I had a great start, setting several PBs in a row, but still got caught by the fast guys. Thanks for the respectful, clean passes. See you next week.

Oh yeah... I'm off the pace... well it's not a Porsche track I guess...

Then Minkler shows up and sets a time.

I always read the owners manual.
And I remember a specific line I'll quote from the owners manual of the original Gran Tourismo.
"Don't try to go fast in the slow parts."

Not that the twisty bits on this track were slow per se, but I tried to apply that wisdom and keep a bit of patience while navigating this track.

Worked out pretty well. I managed to chase Hutton for a while in race 1, so I'm taking that as a win.
Hopefully, his car wasn't damaged. That would severely burst a stable bubble I got going on here.

Congrats to the winners and podium finishers.

Gained over a second of time in official practice but only good for a high 48 and 6th on the grid.

Race one went pretty well all things considered. Was able to hang with the lead group and eventually lost some time but they were still insight 4-5 seconds ahead. Even though I was just driving by myself the car was feeling pretty good.

So going into race two with a good start I was in 3rd chasing Dale and Cam. Thinking I could maybe have a good finish was just staying tight to Dale. Came out of the twisty's to head down to the last corner and touched the inside curbing, lost the car, going off and hitting the wall hard. That had never happened before touching the curbing. Got going once again in last place, thought car was ok but it wasn't, just plowed off track. Would have needed a pit stop to fix.

Having every Sunday this season at some point been in last place in one of the races because of something happening, just driving to try and catch the back of the field I wasn't in the mood to do it anymore, parked it.

A few races ago I figured that I would be lucky to get a win this season so safe to say that I am more than content to add to my win at Ruapuna with a lucky one in Mexico. I will keep giving it my all but my realistic goal is to do what I can to keep the title chase alive to the last round, always more interesting that way but the champ is very unlikely to be me.

Pro Qualifying was excellently close, about 0.1 second covering the top 3, only 0.5 separating the top 5 with Porsche, Datsun, Ford and Alpine all competitive and the top 6 all under the lap record from the 2018 season. I'm certain that Coffey and Luca would have been right there, too, shame that Rich has stupid working hours and Luca is another continent.

Had good fun and racing in both races, benefited from mistakes by Rich and Pat and infighting that let me build enough of a gap in the infield to be safe on the straight. Really enjoyed the concentration level required and the grip of the 240Z in the endless esses.

Had a moment of conflict when something happened with Hutton and/or Brandon and I caught them at about start/finish. The team thing to do would have been to get behind Brandon and bump draft him but he was on the right and I knew that the BMW is faster so I stayed behind Dave and the black Panzer. I can't remember how it played out exactly but I think that I regretted not being behind the more nimble Capri when we got to the stadium section and esses.

Super close fender to fender, door to door and bumper to bumper with at least Rich, Pat and Brandon, great driving boyz!

Next up is a real life track in Colombia, that gets us back to a more local track feel than Mexico's GP circuit and a short lap. See you then!

Congrats to the winners and to the rest of the podium.

Tough track for me. Had to jack my set up all around to get some sort of flow through the twisties. Had some great close racing with Tom and Rich. Lots of fun at least. Sorry fo rmy teammates Kevin and Dave. Wishing them better luck in teh races ahead.

See you all next race!
